The co-founder of a Ponzi program with Bitcoin was arrested by the Jakarta police for sexual assault

Russ Albert Medlin, co-founder of the alleged crypto-ponzi program BitClub, was arrested in South Jakarta for sexual assault on minors.

Local news agency Jakarta Globe reported on June 16 that local police arrested Medlin on Monday, Jakarta police chief Yusri Yunus said The police received “complaints from the public that underage women were seen frequently” in the inmate’s home. When the police inspected the place where he lived, they saw three teenagers leaving their home:

“Officials intercepted and interrogated the three underage women, ages 15 to 17, and admitted that the homeowner had hired them to have sex with him.”

The child protection law introduced in 2014 in the country punishes adults who commit sexual acts with minors with a prison sentence of up to 15 years.

Medlin was convicted of sexual abuse

According to reports Medlin would have been twice sentenced to two years in prison for similar crimes, once in 2006 and once in 2008., both times from the Nevada State District Court, after sexually abusing a girl under 14 and storing pictures of the fact.

In late December 2019, the U.S. authorities arrested three men who were accused of participating Medlin can now hold the alleged Ponzi program from BitClub. Roma Hutajulu, special police director of the Jakarta Police Department, said:

“We will continue to prosecute him (Russ Albert Medlin) under Indonesian law while awaiting a US embassy extradition request contacted by an FBI legal attaché.”
