The Bulgarian Prime Minister remains in office despite being asked to resign

July 12, 2020

Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borisov is holding on to his post despite growing public protests and President Rumen Radev’s call for him to resign from the executive.

“Nothing holds us apart from responsibility in the government,” Borisov replied in a message on his Facebook account, assuring him that if the country was ruled by the socialists, the country would end the state.

In addition, Borisov warned that the coronavirus pandemic would bring “terrible months and years” to the Bulgarian economy.
