The British Minister of Labor and Pensions resigns and denounces a “purge” of Boris Johnson

LONDON, Sep 7 (EUROPE PRESS) –

The Minister of Labor and Pensions of the British Government, Amber Rudd, has announced his resignation from the Government and his abandonment of the Conservative Party in response to the “purge” of Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his “failure” in his attempts to reach a new agreement on Brexit with the EU.

Rudd, considered one of the main conservative voices favorable to the permanence of the United Kingdom in the EU, has criticized the “attack on decency and democracy” that involves the expulsion of dissident deputies from the Conservative Party in an interview with the newspaper 'The Times' published this Sunday.

For Rudd, “there is no evidence” that Johnson is really trying to reach a new agreement with the EU and has promised that he will continue to fight politically to avoid an exit without an agreement on October 31.
