The Brazilian public prosecutor’s office is asking to investigate hospital invasions and toilet attacks

Brazilian Attorney General Augusto Aras requested an investigation this Sunday into violent attacks in hospitals across the country, which in some cases included attacks on health professionals.

Aras’ request, which will be official on Monday, comes after several local authorities have criticized Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro, who they blame for these attacks after asking his acolytes to break into health centers and burn the beds in the intensive care unit.

“If you have a field hospital near you, if you have a public hospital, you’ll find a way to get there and film,” said Bolsonaro on Friday on social media.

“A lot of people do that, but more people have to do it to show whether the beds are occupied or not,” Bolsonaro went on to say that all of the material that came to him would be sent to the authorities to help them take appropriate action.
