The Brazilian Minister of Economic Affairs, Paulo Guedes, announced on Tuesday that there would be a “router” within the portfolio he was managing, as two of those responsible for the privatizations have resigned because they are not being carried out at the expected speed.
Guedes has pointed out that the two disgruntled special secretaries of the Economy Department were Salim Mattar, who was responsible for the privatization plans; and Paulo Uebel, responsible for administrative reforms.
“Today there was an escape. Salim said the privatizations did not take place and he preferred to go, and Uebel confirmed that the administrative reforms will not be presented and that he would go. Those are the facts,” revealed Guedes.
“The pace of reforms is dictated by both politics and voting. If the President of the Republic wants to broadcast a reform, it will be broadcast, if not, it will not be broadcast,” declared the Minister of Economy, as published by several Brazilian media outlets .
