August 15, 2020

The team of the Belarusian presidential opposition Svetlana Tijanovskaya has started to form a so-called coordination council to ensure the transfer of power in the country after last week’s presidential elections, in which President Alexander Lukashenko won a broad victory on charges of fraud.

“We have begun to form the coordinating council, a broad one” is a working group of the most distinguished members of society that needs to study and develop safe and stable mechanisms to ensure the transfer of power, “said the campaign von Tijanovskaya in a statement.

Applicants for participation in the Council must have Belarusian citizenship and be willing, among other things, “to personally participate in the work of the Council on the territory of Belarus in Minsk,” according to a statement by the official Sputnik News Agency.
