“Ukrainians are calling on the German coalition to put aside all concerns and separate Russia from Swift,” Melnyk told Funke media group on Friday.

This decision to deny countries the use of Swift’s international banking communications network would have far-reaching consequences for companies, as they would be cut off from international revenue streams.

In this sense, it would be more difficult to make transfers inside and outside the country. For the time being, all options would be open, including the exclusion of Russia from this system as a sanction against Moscow in the event of an attack on Ukraine.
