May 29, 2020

Derek Chauvin, the official who allegedly killed Geroge Floyd after crushing his neck when he was arrested in the city of Minnesota, Minneapolis, was arrested this Friday after three days of unrest and protests.

Minnesota Department of Public Security commissioner John Harrington has confirmed that Chauvin – who can be seen in a video kneeling on Floyd’s neck under the eyes of three other officers – is now in custody.

The agent had worked for the Minneapolis police for 19 years and was released after Floyd’s death was confirmed. This comes from information from the CBS network, which shows that the charges against him are currently unknown.

At first, officials said Floyd opposed the arrest and had a medical problem. However, the video footage received shows that Floyd works, at least in principle, with the police. The video shows that he cannot breathe while Chauvin holds his knee back for a few minutes.
