“Although securing the international border and the protection of the lives and property of its citizens who surround this border is the task of the federal government, the current government has repeatedly shown that it does not assume this fundamental responsibility,” they criticized since the state in Letter.

At the same time, they have indicated that the funding is an “advance payment” to “begin designing and building physical barriers in private and public lands that have been voluntarily donated that border this state with Mexico”.

They also pointed to the “failure” of the Joe Biden administration due to the increase in irregular immigration, “damage” to land, drugs and “a dangerous escalation in cartel violence”.

The governor has also directed the Texas Facilities Commission to hire a project manager who will begin investigating the length of the wall, its location and its total cost, local media reported.
