The burning of Mohamed Buazizi on December 17, 2010 in Tunisia sparked protests that spread across the region, sparking what is known as the “Arab Spring,” which a decade later resulted in the overthrow of several authoritarian regimes triggered several wars and a counter-revolutionary wave that prevented the protesters’ main demands from being realized.
