Ten people die in clashes between communities due to cattle theft in South Sudan

At least ten people have died in recent clashes between communities that have been recorded in South Sudan in recent days, cattle theft incidents, the authorities confirmed on Friday.

“A group of cattle thieves came from the southern part of the river and attacked Liek village and county town between July 27th and 29th,” Miakol Makuak administrative director Ruweng said.

It was pointed out that the attacks resulted in ten deaths and three injuries being hospitalized in the region, and an investigation was launched to clarify the identity of those responsible.

“The attackers stole more than 2,000 cows after the attacks, but local residents managed to recover them after a few clashes,” he said, according to Radio Tamazuj.
