At least 10 people died late Tuesday from an attack by the Congo Development Cooperative (CODECO) militia in the village of Lenga, Ituri province, in the northeast of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).

The head of Bahema Badjere headquarters said that the militiamen broke into the city on the Djugu area late Tuesday, ransacked property, and burned down 150 homes of internally displaced people.

He explained that the militiamen were in Lenga for several hours looking for their victims from house to house before adding that there was a woman and three children among the victims, according to Congolese radio station Radio Okapi.
