Taliban leader appears publicly for the first time after conquering Afghanistan

The leader of the Taliban movement, Hibatulá Ajunzadá, made his first public appearance since the conquest of Afghanistan in mid-August in front of his supporters in the province of Kandahar, the cradle of the organization.

According to Taliban sources to the Afghan news agency Pajhwok, Ajunzadá spoke to a group of students at a seminar in the great madrasah of Darul Ulum Hakima in addition to extraordinary security measures.

During his appearance, Ajunzadá avoided any mention of political issues and instead dedicated his prayers to the “success of the Taliban leaders”.
