The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirms the attacks and points out victims
According to the state-run Syrian news agency SANA, the Syrian air defense responded on Tuesday evening to an attack allegedly carried out by Israel on the center and south of the country.
According to a military source, Israel launched an air strike from Lebanon against regions of southern and central Syria at 11:36 p.m. local time. The Israeli army has not commented on the events.
Damascus condemned Israeli helicopter attacks in May after Syria reported the deaths of at least one person in a series of attacks in Latakia and Hama provinces.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also confirmed the attacks and pointed out the victims without giving the number.
A statement said that after a month there were Israeli attacks “on Syrian military bases” and explosions could be heard near Damascus International Airport and other locations such as Homs, Hamah and Latakia.
On the other hand, just hours before the air strike, SANA reported an explosion in the city of Homs, in which at least eight people were injured.
The Israeli army has carried out dozens of bomb attacks in Syria, arguing that it is preventing Tehran from setting up Iranian bases in the country and from supplying weapons to the Lebanese Shiite militia party Hezbollah.
