Switzerland will reopen its borders with Germany, France and Austria on June 15th

The Swiss government reported on Wednesday that the country’s borders with Germany, France and Austria will be open from June 15th to lift the restrictions due to the corona virus.

In a statement, the Federal Council announced that it would begin withdrawing the restriction measures on June 6 and end the “extraordinary situation” of COVID-19 on June 19.

According to the decision of the Federal Council, events with up to 300 participants are permitted from June 6, “including family events, trade fairs, concerts, theater and film screenings as well as demonstrations and marches”.

Switzerland will then reopen its borders with Italy, one of the countries most affected by the virus, as well as with all countries belonging to the Schengen area on July 6th.
