Sweden adds another 65 deaths from the corona virus

June 2, 2020

The Swedish health authorities reported on Tuesday that after the data were updated, 65 deaths from the coronavirus have occurred, putting the deaths of COVID-19 at 4,468 in the country.

“The numbers from the last 24 hours are quite typical and reflect that we have been updated with the tests and analyzes all weekend,” said Karin Tegmark Wisell, head of the microbiology department at the Ministry of Health.

The data has been updated days after nobody died of a corona virus since last March, according to a Swedish government document that reported that 38,500 people were infected.

The authorities have underlined that there are generally delays in updating data over the weekend. Johanna Sandwall, who is responsible for crisis management at the National Board of Health and Welfare, said that the capacity in the intensive care unit is 30 percent.
