The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) said on Sunday that almost 500 armed people broke into the city of Masteri near the Chad border and less than 50 kilometers from the state capital El Geneina on Saturday. where they massacred at least 60 people.
“Tensions in West Darfur continue after the number and frequency of incidents, especially near the capital El Geneina and Masteri in the city of Beida, has increased rapidly in recent weeks,” the agency said.
