Second day of protest in a row by migrants in Lesbos after the fire in Moria

September 12, 2020

This Saturday there were new protests by migrants evacuated from the Moria internment camp on the Greek island of Lesbos after the fires that affected their facilities and left foreigners outside.

Groups of migrants have argued with police near Moria after attempting to march towards the island’s main port, Mytilene. Agents used tear gas to cut off the migrants.

Before that, hundreds of migrants gathered to demand that they be allowed to leave Lesbos with banners with handwritten slogans on them with slogans like “We don’t want to go back to a hell like Morias” or “Do you hear us, Ms. Merkel?” to the German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
