Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalni has announced the closure of the self-founded NGO Anti-Corruption Fund (FBK).
“In this case, we have to report that the non-profit organization Fund to Fight Corruption, which I founded nine years ago, ended because it was simply taken from us,” said Navalni on his blog.
The politician said that at the end of 2019, the Russian judiciary accepted a request by the food service company for schools in the Russian capital, Moskovski Shkolnik (Moscow student), to charge Navalni and his organization 88 million rubles (about 1.07) Million Euros).
“In my case or in the case of the NGO, nothing can be done. It is a huge sum and it doesn’t even make sense to collect it (…). The question is, what do we do with the FBK? We have nothing left “They took everything away from us in previous registrations. And now they’re going to withhold the organization itself,” he added.
