Russia has added nearly 5,500 more cases to its coronavirus pandemic balance, in line with the previous days, making the country the fourth largest in the world.
According to the emergency center against the spread of the virus, another 5,488 new cases were confirmed on the last day, including 1,229 asymptomatic. This brings the total number of infected people to 1,057,362.
As is common practice, most new infections were found in the capital (670), Saint Petersburg (203) and the Moscow province (170).
On the flip side, there have been an additional 119 deaths, leaving the pandemic leaving 18,484 deaths in Russia, while on the final day an additional 5,428 people were medically discharged, bringing the total to 873,535 patients.
According to the national consumer protection agency Rospotrebnadzor, more than 40.2 million COVID-19 tests have been carried out so far, including around 356,000 on the last day, reports the Russian agency Sputnik.
