Russia recorded an additional 4,828 cases of COVID-19 on the last day, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 937,321 since the pandemic began. This emerges from the data that the operation center presented on Wednesday against the spread of the new corona virus.
According to the official statement from the Sputnik agency, 4,828 new cases have been registered nationwide, of which 1,230, 25 percent, were asymptomatic. Most of the new positives were found in the capital (691), Saint Petersburg (162), and Moscow Province (151).
On the other hand, there were another 177 deaths on the last day, leaving Russia at the gates of the 16,000 deaths with 15,989 deaths. Plus, to date, nearly 750,000 patients have overcome the disease after an additional 6,795 people were laid off since Tuesday.
According to the national consumer protection agency Rospotrebnadzor, more than 33.2 million tests have been carried out across Russia since the pandemic began, including around 248,000 in the last 24 hours.
