The new coronavirus pandemic has caused 4,952 new cases and 115 deaths in Russia in the past 24 hours, compared with 4,729 infections and 123 deaths the previous day, balancing more than a million infected and 17,000 deaths, as reported by the Russian center who is responsible for fighting the virus.
“In the past 24 hours in Russia, 4,952 new cases of coronavirus infections have been confirmed in 84 regions, including 1,196 asymptomatic ones,” the agency said in a statement from Russian news agency Sputnik.
With the new data, the balance is 1,005,000 infected, 0.5 percent more than the previous day, and 17,414 deaths. Most new infections were found in the Russian capital (625 cases), Saint Petersburg (189) and the province of the capital (158).
Of the deaths on the last day, 21 died in Saint Petersburg and twelve in Moscow. 5,464 people have been laid off in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 821,169 people.
The National Office of Consumer Protection (Rospotrebnadzor) has reported that Russia has so far carried out more than 37.1 million coronavirus tests, of which 275,000 were completed in the last 24 hours. A total of 210,716 patients remain under medical observation as suspected cases.
