Russian Health Minister Michail Muraschko pointed out on Saturday that the situation caused by the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in the country remains tense. “Therefore, it is recommended that the regions of the country assess the situation at the local level on a weekly basis and make decisions about mitigation measures.”

However, the head of the country’s epidemiological rescue service, Anna Popova, wanted to call for calm. “The situation with the infection remains stable now. The decision to declare a vacation break for four working days has enabled us to avoid any growth in order to maintain this stability of the situation,” said Popova in an interview on Rossiya-1 television .

Indian variants of the coronavirus, including the most dangerous, do not pose a significant risk to Russia, according to Popova. “Russian vaccines protect against all strains, and today we are keen to predict more possible mutations. So far we have not identified a significant risk for us,” said he.
