Russia is above 910,000 coronavirus cases and growing at a constant rate of 5,000 cases per day. This confirms that the country is the fourth largest affected by the pandemic in the world.
“In the past 24 hours in Russia, 5,065 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in 83 regions,” a total of 912,823, said the center, which is devoted to monitoring the health crisis in the country.
In addition, “114 deaths were confirmed last day,” including 22 in Saint Petersburg and 11 in Moscow, bringing the death toll to 15,498.
During the same period, “6,568 people were medically discharged,” bringing a total of 722,964 people who have managed to overcome COVID-19, the Russian center said, quoted by the Sputnik news agency.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this week that the country has registered a vaccine against COVID-19 – Sputnik V – that is given in two doses and guarantees two-year immunity. Russia estimates it could produce around 500 million cans a year and hopes to start production in the fall.
