The pandemic of the new corona virus from the Chinese city of Wuhan has left 9,974 cases in Russia in the last 24 hours, increasing the balance to more than 250,000 infected and more than 2,300 deaths.
“9,974 cases of infection have been confirmed in Russia in the last 24 hours,” the Russian center responsible for fighting the coronavirus said in a statement by the Russian news agency Sputnik. With the new data, the balance amounts to 252,245 infected people, 4.1 percent more than in the previous year.
As in previous days, most new infections were identified in Moscow with a total of 4,712 positive infections. Russia has had a daily growth of more than 10,000 positives since May 3, which has resulted in more than 100,000 infected people accumulating in ten days. It is the first time since May 2 that Russia registered fewer than 10,000 cases in one day. 9,623 positive cases were registered on this day.
On May 11, the country registered 11,656 new cases, a day later the number dropped to 10,899 positive cases and on the 13th to 10,028. The Russian center said that 84 of the 85 regions had new cases and 40.6 percent had no clinical symptoms.
In the past 24 hours, 93 patients have died from COVID-19, the disease caused by the coronavirus, which has increased the death toll to 2,305 since the virus arrived in Russia. The new coronavirus pandemic infects more than 4.3 million people worldwide and has killed more than 297,000 people worldwide.
