Russia exceeds 845,000 coronavirus cases after adding more than 5,400 in a single day

Russia has exceeded 845,000 cases of coronavirus by adding more than 5,400 in the past 24 hours, as reported on Saturday by the center dedicated to fighting the pandemic in the country.

“In the past 24 hours in Russia, 5,462 new cases of COVID-19 have been confirmed in 83 regions,” said the Russian center in 85 regions to 845,443. Most new infections were found in Moscow (690), Sverdlovsk province (202) and the autonomous district of Janti-Mansi (170).

In addition, another 95 deaths were recorded on the last day, including 13 in Moscow, nine in Saint Petersburg and six in Sverdlovsk, resulting in 14,058 deaths from coronavirus in the Eurasian nation.

The Russian center also said that “8,114 people have been released in the past 24 hours” and “the total number of people recovered is 646,524,” the Sputnik news agency said.

The consumer protection agency Rospotrebnadzor has reported that over 28.4 million diagnostic tests for COVID-19 have been performed in Russia last day, 316,000.
