As of Wednesday, the Russian authorities have registered more than 700,000 cases of COVID-19, of which 6,562 have been identified in the last 24 hours. Russia is the third most affected country in the world after the United States and Brazil.
The center, which coordinates the fight against the new corona virus in Russia, has reported 700,792 positive results, while the death toll has risen to 10,667, 173 more than on Tuesday, according to the official Sputnik news agency.
In the capital Moscow alone, there are almost 227,000 cases of COVID-19, one of three cases discovered nationwide. 621 positives have been found in the capital Moscow in the last 24 hours.
Authorities estimate that after contracting the virus, more than 217,000 people remain under medical supervision, while the number of cases detection tests conducted in Russia has increased to 21.7 million. Of the more than 6,500 confirmed cases since Tuesday, 1,812 are asymptomatic.
Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Kremlin spokesman Dimitri Peskow are among the people who caught it in Russia. The government made sure that the president, Vladimir Putin, is tested every few days and that he takes preventive measures.
