The new coronavirus pandemic, which has its origins in the Chinese city of Wuhan, has caused 6,406 new cases and 186 deaths in Russia in the last 24 hours, corresponding to more than 759,000 infected people and more than 12,000 deaths, the center reports in Russian responsible for the fight against the virus.
“In the past 24 hours in Russia, 6,406 new cases of coronavirus infections have been confirmed in 83 regions, including 1,663 without clinical symptoms,” the agency said in a statement by the Russian news agency Sputnik.
With the new data, the balance is 759,203 infected, which is 0.9 percent more than the previous day, and 12,123 deaths. Most new infections were found in Moscow with 575 positive infections in the Sverdlovsk province, in the Urals (301 cases) and in the autonomous district of Janti-Mansi (249 infections).
Of the total number of deaths reported in the past 24 hours, 30 have died in Saint Petersburg, 13 in Moscow and 13 in Arkhangelsk Province.
Regarding recovery, 7,681 people have been discharged in the past 24 years, for a total of 539,373 cured patients. According to the Consumer Protection Agency (Rospotrebnadzor), the Russian health authorities have carried out more than 24.3 million coronavirus tests, and 271,705 people are reported to be suspected. The pandemic leaves 13.8 million cases and more than 589,000 deaths worldwide.
