Russian authorities confirmed more than 8,000 cases and around 365 deaths from coronavirus on the last day this Tuesday. These numbers are similar to those of the last few days, as reported by the national operations center for the fight against the coronavirus.
The agency has detailed that 8,183 infections and 364 deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the total to 4,957,756 and 116,575, respectively, with Moscow being the hardest hit city with 2,430 positive and 59 deaths.
He also highlighted that to date 4,572,226 people have recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, including 8,972 on the last day, Russian news agency Sputnik reported.
For its part, the National Consumer Protection Agency (Rospotrebnadzor) has indicated that 505,787 people are being observed as suspected cases of coronavirus, while it has stressed that more than 134 million tests have been carried out with the COVID-19 to date.
Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said last week that the country had passed the number of 24 million people who had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine and urged the population to get vaccinated “before the end of the Year to achieve herd immunity “the year”.
