August 11, 2020

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov denounced on Tuesday that, according to the TASS news agency, the country had been the victim of “numerous cyber attacks” in connection with the German government.

“We have expressed our concern to the German side about the current situation in the context of our cooperation in the field of cybersecurity,” said Lavrov after a meeting with his German counterpart Heiko Maas.

With this in mind, the head of Russian diplomacy has declared that “this year many cyberattacks against Russian institutions and organizations were uncovered and their responsibility is German”, although he did not give any examples or further details.
