He also said that industrial-scale production of the vaccine is expected to start “in April” at one of the plants of the Federal Agency for the Protection of Animal Health, according to the Russian news agency Sputnik.

Savenkov has stressed that clinical studies have shown that the vaccine is safe and that the animals who received it developed antibodies to the coronavirus that lasted at least six months, although Rosseljoznadzor scientists are continuing their studies on this point.

On the other hand, he has argued that the vaccine will be of great importance as some species have been shown to be susceptible to the coronavirus, including cases discovered on mink farms in several European countries, including Spain.
