Russia adds more than 8,300 cases of coronavirus and exceeds 379,000 infected and 4,100 dead people

The pandemic of the new coronavirus from the Chinese city of Wuhan has caused more than 8,000 cases and 174 deaths in Russia in the last 24 hours, which corresponds to more than 379,000 infected people and more than 4,100 deaths, the Russian center of the fight against the virus.

“In the past 24 hours in Russia, 8,371 new cases of coronavirus infections have been confirmed in 85 regions, including 3,560 asymptomatic cases,” said a statement by the Russian news agency Sputnik.

With the new data, the balance amounts to 379,051 infected people, an increase of 2.3 percent compared to the previous day, and 4,142 deaths. The number of 174 deaths in the last 24 hours is the record that Russia reached two days ago.

Of the total contagions, 223,916 correspond to cases that are still active. In people who have recovered from a coronavirus infection, the number rises to 150,993. Moscow remains the epicenter of the pandemic in Russia with 173,497 cases and 2,254 deaths. 2,054 new cases have been discovered in the Russian capital in the last 24 hours.

According to the Consumer Protection Agency in Russia, around 300,000 people are suspected of being infected with the corona virus. In the past 24 hours, authorities have carried out 285,000 virus detection tests, increasing the total number of tests to over 9.7 million.
