Russian authorities this Wednesday confirmed more than 450 coronavirus deaths in the past 24 hours, bringing the Eurasian country past the line of 90,000 deaths since the pandemic began.
The National Action Center for the Fight Against the Coronavirus has detailed that 9,079 infections and 466 deaths were recorded on the last day, bringing the total to 4,351,553 and 90,275, respectively.
The number of cases is the second in a row in which the country has confirmed fewer than 10,000 daily infections since early October. During the Tuesday day, he stated that the number was 9,445 so it continues to decrease.
On the other hand, the agency has stated that 3,945,527 people have so far recovered from COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, including 13,350 on the last day, according to the Russian news agency Sputnik.
Russia started a new phase of the vaccination campaign in mid-January, during which the general population can already be vaccinated, having taken into account that the vulnerable population has already been vaccinated, increasing the number of vaccination points.
In this regard, Russian Health Minister Mikhail Murashko noted on March 3 that Russian authorities hope to achieve herd immunity to COVID-19 by the end of July if the vaccination schedule continues as before.
