The new coronavirus pandemic has left 8,572 new cases and 232 deaths in Russia in the past 24 hours, recording one-day deaths, bringing the balance to more than 387,000 infected and 4,374 deaths, the Russian center reportedly responsible for fighting the virus.
“In the past 24 hours in Russia, 8,572 new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed in 84 regions, including 3,380 cases without clinical symptoms,” said a statement by the Sputnik news agency.
The number of fatalities in the past 24 hours is the highest in a day in Russia and is 30 percent higher than the previous record, the 174 deaths on May 26.
With the new data, the balance amounts to 387,623 infected people in Russia, which corresponds to an increase of 2.3 percent compared to the previous day. Moscow remains the epicenter of the pandemic in Russia with 175,829 infected and 2,330 dead. 76 people have died in the Russian capital in the last 24 hours.
As for the healed people, the balance is now 159,257 after 8,624 medical layoffs were recorded on the last day. To date, there are 223,992 active cases of coronavirus in Russia.
