Romanian businessman Viorel Catarama is under investigation for deliberately trying to get coronavirus. This comes from judicial sources that have been confirmed to the G4Media portal.
65-year-old Catarama, former senator and former vice president of the Association of Romanian s, hugged infected people in the city of Barbulesti to demonstrate that the pandemic-free measures to distance themselves were not necessary for Urziceni City Prosecutor.
The businessman himself confirmed his actions on his Facebook page. “I went to Barbulesti in Ialomita County, where there are more than 70 cases of coronavirus. I hugged several people, made contacts and then isolated myself at home,” he wrote.
“I am firmly convinced that nothing will happen to me,” he added, with the intention of “publicizing the big mistake of bankrupting Romania and suppressing our fundamental rights and freedoms”.
