Romania has the maximum number of coronavirus cases and, for the first time, exceeds 1,000 daily infections

The Romanian government confirmed its maximum daily coronavirus this Wednesday, which for the first time exceeds the thousand 24-hour cases, which means that the country has also passed the 40,000 infection threshold since the pandemic began.

The Strategic Communication Group has detailed that 1,030 coronavirus infections were registered on the last day, for a total of 40,163, with the capital Bucharest being the most affected city with 4,770 cases.

In addition, a total of 2,101 people have died from COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, from which 24,663 have so far recovered, according to the Romanian news agency Agerpres.
