Iranian President Hassan Rohani on Wednesday asked the other countries that signed the nuclear deal not to support the extension of the United Nations arms embargo to the country that expires in October, and noted that this would be a blow to the USA would be multilateralism.

In statements coinciding with the fifth anniversary of the signing of the agreement, the President defended that the rest of the signatory countries “must recognize that it is not just about Iran’s interests or Iran’s relations with them or with the countries regionally” .

“What matters today is the salvation of international law, multilateralism, and the value of international agreements,” he defended before demanding that they not support the United States’ efforts to widen the arms embargo.

He reaffirmed that extending the embargo would “harm all parties” and added that Iran cannot be held responsible for the situation triggered by the United States’ unilateral withdrawal from the 2018 agreement, such as Iranian Tasnim News reports from the agency.
