Qatar announces that it will paralyze its economy by May 30 due to the corona virus

The government of Qatar has ordered this Monday to close all business and all commercial activities except essential services from Tuesday through May 30.

The decision was made after an extraordinary council of ministers was held after it became known that the country had registered more than 1,300 coronavirus cases in the past 24 hours.

The small Gulf country has currently confirmed 33,969 cases and 15 deaths.

The government has said that only grocery stores, pharmacies, and restaurants that are delivered to their homes can continue to open their stands, according to the state-run news agency QNA, QNA.

The Department of Commerce and Industry has confirmed that companies from the automotive, maintenance and electricity, supplier, hotel and transportation sectors and bank branches may continue to operate.
