Putin assures that the constitutional referendum and the victory parade have not provoked new outbreaks
Russian President Vladimir Putin said Monday that neither the constitutional referendum nor the victory parade caused new outbreaks of the corona virus, while alleging that the pandemic situation in the country “is improving”.
“We have held several important events, such as the victory parade and the vote on constitutional changes that did not provoke outbreaks. On the contrary, the situation is improving,” he said in press releases during a trip to the Crimean peninsula, according to the Sputnik news agency .
Russia held a referendum on a constitutional amendment between June 25 and July 1 that, after approval, will allow Putin to hold office with almost 80% of the vote until 2036, and on June 24 he celebrated the Soviet victory Nazi Germany with a military parade.

Both events were scheduled for earlier dates, but had to be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic and were celebrated with the virus that was still present and the increasing number of infections.
