The Portuguese Ministry of Health has registered 413 more coronavirus cases and seven other deaths in the last 24 hours, a total of 43,560 infected and 1,605 deaths from COVID-19 disease.
The number of cases continues the upward trend that resumed last Friday after several days among the 400 daily infections in the country.
Of the newly confirmed cases, 317 were registered in the Lisbon and Tajo Valley regions, which remain the most affected areas in the country with a total of 20,273 infected. All deaths from the past 24 hours have also been recorded where a total of 498 people have died.
A further 348 people have been discharged to a total of 28,772 cured patients in the past few hours, according to the balance collected by the newspaper ‘Jornal de Notícias’.
Regarding the hospital stay, there are a total of 489 patients who need medical help (six more than the previous day) and 73 in intensive care units (one more than yesterday).
