Portugal has fewer infections compared to Friday, but remains vigilant in Lisbon and the Tajo Valley

The Portuguese government has confirmed eight deaths from COVID-19 in the last 24 hours, an increase compared to the two deaths registered on Friday and 342 more cases, a decrease of more than 400 compared to the previous balance.

The country has registered a total of 46,221 victims and 1,654 deaths. The increase is mainly due to the Lisbon region and the Tajo Valley, which already make up 71% of all cases in the country.

Similarly, and according to the last bulletin from the Health Directorate-General, more than 305 people recovered from COVID-19 have been registered for a total of 30,656 in the last 24 hours.

The government has confirmed a total of 13,912 active cases and hospitalized 459, 12 fewer than on Friday. Of the total number of hospital patients, 68 are in an intensive care unit, two more than on Friday.
