The Portuguese authorities reported 16 new coronavirus deaths this Saturday, with 1,023 deaths from the new disease in the country.
Regarding confirmed cases, the Health Directorate-General reported to the Portuguese government 422 duplicate cases in the north region that were removed from the calculation. Thus, only 203 new positives have been added since the epidemic began, and now a total of 25,190.
855 hospital patients were reported, 37 fewer than on Friday, 150 of whom are in intensive care, four less than the previous day.
Portugal ended this state of emergency on Saturday and will return to the state of disaster that the government decided at the start of the pandemic on Sunday. The country is already in the phase of easing the measures, in which Prime Minister António Costa has called for not losing vigilance.
