On the last day, Portugal added another 306 infections and two deaths from the coronavirus pandemic, which currently affects Lisbon and the surrounding region most severely in the country.
According to the latest data from the Directorate-General for Health (DGS), 254 of the 306 new infections recorded on the last day correspond to the Lisbon region and the Tagus Valley, ie almost 83 percent.
So far, the pandemic in Portugal has left 46,818 cases and 1,662 deaths, while more than 31,000 have already recovered, including 158 on the last day. In terms of active cases, 14,091, 146 are more than on Sunday, while 463 are currently in hospital, 63 of whom are in intensive care.
2,489 new cases have been registered in the past seven days, slightly more than the 2,417 infections registered the previous week, according to the Público newspaper.
