Poland reports the highest daily death toll from COVID-19 since June, 93 in the past 24 hours

The Polish Ministry of Health reported 93 deaths from COVID-19 on Tuesday, the highest number of deaths recorded in the country since June 8, when 95 deaths were confirmed.

With that number, the total death toll from the disease in Poland has risen to 76,000. For their part, the health authorities have reported 6,265 new infections in the last 24 hours, compared to 2,950 the previous day, i.e. 2,982,143 people have contracted the disease since the beginning of the pandemic.

Hospital admissions for COVID-19 also increased during the day, with a total of 5,419 people admitted, compared to 5,042 on Monday. According to the Polish news agency PAP, 449 of them need mechanical ventilation. Meanwhile, more than 2.6 million people have recovered from the disease since the outbreak of the pandemic.

To date, Poland has given more than 38 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine, with more than 19.8 million people in the country having the full vaccination schedule.
