Chilean President Sebastián Piñera called for unity on Monday to better deal with the corona virus. They have asked the opposition to set up a transversal crisis committee within 24 hours.

“Given the health pandemic of the corona virus and the social pandemic of the world recession (…), dialogue, collaboration and agreements are more necessary than ever to address the painful effects of opportunities, sensitivity, effectiveness and responsibility on these pandemics,” said Piñera.

“Our government has been, is and will always be with the best attitude and disposition for dialogue, cooperation and agreements for the benefit of Chile and the Chilean families,” he said.
