Philippine Air Force plane crashes with more than 80 passengers on board

A C130 plane belonging to the Philippine Air Force crashed this Sunday at 11:30 a.m. (local time) in the south of the country with at least 80 passengers, although around 40 have already been rescued.

The chief of the country’s armed forces, Cirilito Sobejana, has said that rescues for passengers and crew are already underway, CNN Philippines reported.

Sobejana has also reported that the plane was carrying troops from Cagayan de Oro and that after losing its way to Jolo Airport, it crashed in a village near the town of Patikul.
