Peter Schiff, a popular financial commentator and defender of gold, He recently told people to send Bitcoin (BTC) to his 18-year-old son.
“Since a lot of you bug me about my son (Spencer Schiff) buying bitcoin, why not rub it off by giving him something like a belated birthday present? He turned 18 yesterday.” he showed Ship. “You won’t lose yours” he said and posted his son’s wallet address.
Schiff’s tweet points to an event in early 2020, when the gold lover admitted he had lost access to his Bitcoin funds. “I knew owning Bitcoin was a bad idea, but I never realized it was that bad.” said in a January 2020 tweet.
At the time of publication The Bitcoin address that Schiff pointed to as his son’s is 0.0627 BTC.
S.chiff has made multiple negative comments against Bitcoin, often put gold as a better alternative. During an interview on a podcast in July Schiff said bitcoiners are not looking for an option for asset reserves, but rather a route to quick wealth. On the other side of the table are many BTC advocates, like Morgan Creek Digital co-founder, Anthony Pompliano, you see the asset as a hedge and store of value.
