Peru’s Congress passed a motion of censure against President Vizcarra over allegations of corruption

The Congress of Peru this Monday approved a motion of censure against the President of the country, Martín Vizcarra, by 105 votes in favor, 19 against, 4 abstentions on “persistent moral incapacity” over the recent aftermath of a conspiracy of corruption for which he was Governor of Moquegua between 2011 and 2014 would have received 2.3 million soles (approx. 543,000 euros) in exchange for public construction contracts.
