Peru tops 600,000 cases of coronavirus and around 29,000 deaths

The Peruvian Ministry of Health reported this Monday that it had reached 600,438 accumulated cases of COVID-19 while the deceased is 27,813.

Health officials have confirmed 1,724 new cases and 150 more deaths in the past 24 hours.

On the other hand, 407,301 people have managed to overcome the disease, although 13,367 are still in the hospital, of which 1,525 are in intensive care.

Among the new infections are some of the victims and those arrested by the tragedy of a disco in the Los Olivos district, a nightclub in the Peruvian capital, where 13 people died on Saturday night trying to escape a police operation that struck prepared to leave when the curfew was violated.
