Peru has registered more than 6,600 new cases of coronavirus this Sunday, which is why the Andean country is approaching the number of 500,000 infected, according to the latest data from the Ministry of Health.
In particular, health authorities have identified 6,667 additional positive results in the past 24 hours, which increased the balance to 428,850.
The Ministry of Health has also reported that a total of 19,614 people died in Peru from the effects of COVID-19, 206 more on the last day.
Regarding the condition of the infected, health authorities have indicated that 13,743 will be hospitalized. Of these, 1,410 are in intensive care units and require mechanical ventilation. To date, 294,187 people in Peru have completed their isolation phase or have been released.
